First Visit

Do you have questions about your oral surgery first visit?

Call us today and we would be happy to assist you.

Your initial visit is a crucial step in the treatment planning process. Our board-certified oral surgeon will review your health history, perform an examination, and explain your diagnosis. Your consultation visit will conclude with a brief visit with our financial coordinator. We will review the proposed treatment plan and associated fees and schedule a convenient time for your surgery.

SCHEDULE

The first step is to schedule an appointment for your consultation by filling out our request form or by giving us a call at 817-453-8826. We look forward to assisting you..

COME IN

On your first visit, our experienced team will give you a tour of the office and our doctor will discuss treatment options specifically tailored to your dental needs.

MEET OUR DR.

With more than 20 years of experience our oral surgeon will walk you through your treatment options and help you decide the best course of action.

PLEASE HAVE THESE ITEMS AVAILABLE AT YOUR ORAL SURGERY FIRST VISIT:

  • Surgical Referral slip from your referring dentist/doctor or have it sent digitally to us
  • A diagnostic and current panoramic x-ray only, if taken by your dentist
  • A list of all medications you are presently taking
  • Picture ID of the responsible party
  • Your dental and medical insurance cards
  • New Patient Forms

Sometimes we may be able to perform the surgical procedure the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide your surgical treatment.

SAME DAY SURGERY INSTRUCTIONS

For same-day surgery, please have nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night prior to your surgery, this does not include your routine prescription medications, which need to be taken with a small sip of water. You will also need an adult to accompany you, stay in the office during the procedure, and drive you home.

X-RAYS

We follow treatment standards which support a high quality of care and one of those is a surgical-quality x-ray, which we will take. The type of x-ray you need is determined by the surgeon and may include a surgical-quality panoramic x-ray, 3D image or CT scan. Please remove all earrings, lip rings, facial piercings, etc. If your dentist has taken a recent panoramic x-ray, you may request that they forward it to our office.

CT SCANS

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate 3D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment. This type of imaging is essential in the treatment of orthodontics, implantology, TMJ analysis, oral and orthognathic surgery, and other dental procedures. Undistorted, anatomically correct views of the jaws, teeth and face are generated. Three-dimensional images enable a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies.
